As a child I had nightmares almost every night. Dreams
were very vivid and most of the time I couldn’t wake up. I was in an abandoned
city under the red sky. I was left alone, left behind. Everybody ran away - but
me. I was left with the sky and dark forces were coming to get me. Running from
the shadows, hiding and running again … In the end, the darkness always found
me and I had to face it. When it found me, it killed me. Then there was a
moment … and I was back. I fell in love with my dark companion. Every time. You
can imagine how confusing that was for a little girl. As years went by I
learned to love my dark dreams and my monsters. Though it completely changed
the way of seeing myself. I felt different. In a negative way … and the red sky
remained my synonym for fear.
In my heart there is still this sympathy, love for the
unusual. Today I am a person that will most likely make friends with people
that peek out from the line of “socially acceptable”. I can relate to their feelings.
But most importantly: I love my red sky. Because I understand now that under all the fears,
courage always finds its way to LIFE.
In this blog I’m letting you see ME under the fear.
Under the red sky. Can you relate?
